The Sweet
With "Ballroom Blitz" and "Fox on the Run", they reached the charts across Europe in the 1970s and shaped the glam rock genre. The band combined catchy melodies with distinctive guitar riffs and later moved towards a harder rock sound. To this day, their singles are regularly featured in music documentaries and radio programmes.
The Sweet – Success & musical relevance
Between 1971 and 1978, the band achieved numerous Top 10 placements in the United Kingdom, Germany and other European countries. Alongside their well-known hits, tracks such as "Love Is Like Oxygen" are among their best-selling releases. The mix of glam rock, pop elements and rock arrangements makes their music relevant to a wide audience, even decades after the original release.
