Dschinghis Khan
With the track “Moskau”, the group achieved an internationally noted hit in 1979, which still circulates today in various language versions. The band is closely associated with the disco and pop scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s and was produced by Ralph Siegel. Their repertoire includes original songs in German as well as English and Dutch adaptations.
Dschinghis Khan – Sound & Production Style
Dschinghis Khan are characterised by orchestral arrangements, use of synthesisers and pronounced rhythms, clearly oriented towards the European disco sound of that era. The productions were mainly created in the environment of Jupiter Records under the direction of Ralph Siegel, combining classic pop structures with folkloric elements. Multilingual recordings and versions are a recurring feature of their releases.
